A city sightseeing spot more closer to home, the Umeda Sky Building is the 12th tallest building in Osaka where you can get a very good glimpse of the cityscape on its open air observatory.
A look back at the cityscape from the bottom of the building.
Had to google a full image of the building as I didn’t want to walk far away to take a photo of it. Thanks to its distinct design, you can easily spot this building right outside of Osaka Station’s north exit even if it is not the tallest building in the area.
THAT RING!
700 yen for the longest escalator ride of your life to the top of the building after an elevator ride.
Obligatory souvenir section.
Some love game thing where if you sit in the correct order or something it will form a heart.
The indoor observatory with many accommodations such as love seats, stools, and whatnot for couples to sit and enjoy the scenery for hours with a “Sky Cafe” for replenishment.
I came at a very bad time; I arrived just as a huge group of Korean tourists arrived as well also so the place was crowded and all of the window seats were taken. Had to keep walking around and waiting until I finally managed to find an opening to snap of shots.
This is what that “ring” looks like from the top and inside out.
The very awesome open roof observatory just one level up. It would probably be more awesome if it wasn’t so cold as well ^^;. As you can see, the floor has plenty of ambient lighting to help with the mood. There’s no need to worry about people jumping off the building since there are guards around the site. If someone does managed to jump off, they’ll most likely just get a sprained ankle since they will just land on the roof of the outer section of the building.
Something for couples to test their love again.
This is where a tripod would come handy I supposed…
Osaka… the city is just simply beautiful at night.
I’m not sure if I got the whole city but hope you get the idea anyway. This is Osaka. Besides Osaka Station, I can barely recognize the direction or any of the other landmarks ^^;.
Being less than a 10 minute walk from Osaka station, I think Umeda Sky’s “Floating Garden” observatory is the most convenient place to get a good look of the city. Would come back here another day just to check out the city during the day time.

Each time I went there (well, it was really really REALLY long time ago) I felt like that country is WAY too advance in technology……
even now, looking at these pictures (somehow, it just reminded me)
or maybe because I’m living in an undeveloped country xD” these might be normal for some countries out there too?
Japane itself is really exciting for me – the traditions they managed to keep, and the technology there just inside your apartement or while you’re walking to the train station, really feels like I just stepped into the future each time I went there lol

Japan is really polarizing when it comes to technology. They can be really advanced in some aspects but very outdated in others. But I think that’s what give this country its character and charm.

There is no one best spot to view them but there are many. Osaka Castle is a popular place. Hirano jinja, daigoji, and the philosopher’s path in Kyoto are great places too I heard.

The escalator… is it the ones (seen from the outside) leading to the ‘ring’? Definitely not for those claustrophobic or afraid of heights.
Is the picture showing the ring from the top and inside out taken with a wide lens?
I like the ‘starry floors’. It has a nice effect.
At a glance, you could see how populated the city is with the lights.

Yea. That’s the same escalator. Most of the photos in my recent posts are shot with a wide(r) lens than before; I borrowed a 7-14mm ultra wide-angle from Rob :D. The usual lens are roughly around 15 mm.
