Kyoto: Philosopher’s Path

Kyoto’s Philosopher’s Path, 哲学の道 tetsugaku no michi (Path of philosophy), is a scenic walk between Ginkakuji (not Kinkakuji) and Nanzenji. The path is named as such because a great professor/philosopher used to commute on this road to work (Kyoto University is nearby). This was back in mid-late April as I was hoping to catch the last bits of sakura but as you can see, I didn’t make it in time to this one either TToTT. Well, it was still a peaceful walk nonetheless after the tourists cleared off ^^;. More walking 花見 in this post because hey, it’s spring!

Oh! Magikarp!

With no fencing, it’s not impossible for one to be accidentally (or purposely) pushed into the canal ^^;.

And we are finally leaving the main touristy spots of Ginkakuji.

Oops… forgot to rotate this photo…

In between the walk, there would be numerous other shrines and temples as well. I didn’t visit any of them though…

It is a pleasant road to walk after you get away from all the noise. You can really contemplate your thoughts on life and whatever comes to mind while on a good day here. There are also a lot of residential houses here too… I’m not sure if I should I envy them that they have such a nice road here right outside their front door if I should feel sorry for them for having to put up with the noises tourists make ^^;.

While the cherry blossoms might be gone, there were plenty of other varieties that decorated the road along the way. And maple leaves in the spring? That’s a first…

Here we reach the end of the main walk! And now I have no idea where I am in Kyoto…
